How to Clean Windows
Cleaning windows correctly requires that magic touch, a certain finesse must be brought to the task. This is one of those things that you want to do right the first time, because really, who wants to clean windows all day and then have to redo it because they are streaky and still dirty? Time is much better spent sipping wine in the living room as the sun shines in!
First of all…
Gather together the right tools for the job, such as a strip applicator that is made with a squeegee and a long cloth head. This piece of equipment will stop you from scrubbing the windows, which just draws more dirt by creating a static charge and that’d just be counterproductive! Get a bucket of cleanser as well, which can be as simple and cost-effective as a bucket of water with a few squirts of dish detergent squeezed into it. Saves money and works perfectly fine because it’s really the techniques utilized that will be the deciding factor on if your windows are shiny and clean or streaky and an eyesore.
Cloudy days…
Aare best for cleaning up those windows so that the sunshine doesn’t dry the solution too quickly on the glass, causing streaks. With the strip applicator, apply the solution onto the window and then quickly squeegee down the glass, top to bottom in an S-shaped motion and wipe down the blade with a dry cloth after doing this. Remove moisture from the windowsills with a cloth as well so that the water and solution doesn’t cause the wood to warp or for paint to flake off.
After doing…
The above for all of the window surfaces, inside and outside (can’t have clean windows on the inside with dirty glass outside, nor the reverse), a newspaper can be rubbed over the glass surfaces to make it shine like a diamond and really show off your cleaning skills.
Doing this task twice a year, right before spring and fall, will ensure that your house looks great! Then again, if not up to this job and would rather that the professionals handle it, our Denver Cleaning Services team will gladly transform your windows from drab to fab.
